Touring car action worth seeing in both races
After the free training and the first official qualifying session, the drivers competed in the first race on Friday, which was started from a standing “Grand Prix” start. After the starting lights were extinguished, David Wassermann (GER, TOYO TIRES MOTORSPORT) reached his pole position in the first lap of racing, behind him however were Marcus Zeiner (AUT, MAINFRANKEN MOTODROM Racing) and Fabian Heggli (SUI, Magnet-Shop.net Racing). Both Zeiner and Heggli have been consistently improving in the CHEVROLET Cruze Eurocup and have been able to continuously lower their lap times.

The heated battle on Saturday went in favor of Wassermann again
Whilst the Hungarian sun burnt down hotter and hotter on the racing track, the drivers had to give it their all physically to get the best performance out of their touring car. After David Wassermann won the first race, he also put on a memorable show in the second. The chasers came closer and closer, but the young racing driver did not let this opportunity pass him by and clinched the second win ahead of Marcus Zeiner and Fabian Heggli, who finished just behind him and joined him on the podium.
Now the drivers are eagerly awaiting the next racing weekend at the state-of-the-art Red Bull Ring in Austria on 17th to 20th May 2018. Here, the CHEVROLET Cruze Eurocup will be able to count on having a full starting grid.
